Growing up is something that comes with life and is unstoppable. You start off as a baby and go through all of the life stages. Throughout these stages come happiness, sadness, and excitement. Adolescence is the time where we may have had the best times and the worst times while going through the stage of life. Adolescence is the time when young adults begin to change mentally and physically. During this stage of life, adolescents are introduced to many things such as the changing of the body, interest in different people, and trying to find themselves. When adolescence occurs they will experience puberty, growth spurts, development of body parts, hair growth, emotional changes, social changes, and the introducing of many things. This stage of life is when adolescents are transforming from children to young adults. There are many levels of adolescence that can cause hardships for the adolescence. According to Zastrow and Ashman (2013), adolescence is ââ¬Å"the transitional period between childhood and adulthoodâ⬠It can begin as early as nine years old but usually occurs between the ages of eleven and twelve. When adolescence begins, changes happen mentally and physically. Mentally, children begin to establish and maintain satisfying relationships by learning to share intimacy without feeling worried or inhibited (ââ¬Å"Adolescent Development,â⬠n.d).
